Two Door Cinema Club

Kitsune keeps up their solid list of talent with this latest release from Two Door Cinema Club. "a young, plucky, three piece originating from the seaside resort of Bangor, Northern Ireland making brilliantly hooky, melodic guitar pop." Already a much loved track of my own, do yourself a favor and check out this indie pop gem.

Two Door Cinema Club - Something Good Can Work

Thanks to Kitsune and LA Friendly for surfacing the track.

New Wolfmother.

Or since you're already here, you can just grab it from me (I won't tell). Thanks Wolfmother. Thanks Modblog!

Wolfmother - Back Round

Why Won't You Die?!

Just received a collaboration effort between Trash Yourself and Toxic Avenger. The track is entitled "Die" and has a medium build from basic dancy edginess to pure insanity (via laser sirens and gritty bass drives). Definitely a must for those of you who enjoyed Rave Is King (Le Castlevania Remix):

$ Trash Yourself & The Toxic Avenger - Die

Special Thanks to Trash Yourself for sending the track. They recently found a home at Loliland Rec and their latest single, "Touch" can be found here.

The Very Last Party

I present to you my favorite track sent to me in the last couple weeks. Brought to you by doitlouder.com who have created some buzz with alex technique remixes. This song blends harder edged bass womp with teasing building synth chords. I love it.

Lykke Li Gets The Villians Remix

Usually I would get mad seeing another Lykke Li remix surfacing but this morning I received a villains remix in the mail so...

$ Lykke Li - Little Bit (Villains Remix)

Villains or Disco Villains? Can you tell the difference?

Happy Friday

Every now and then I find something on Itunes that is a treasure not yet ravaged by the hype machine. Here's a first look at the Frankmusik and (Garter?) dub mix of the new Pet Shop Boy's single. I have strong feelings for it.

Dept. of Eagles' Glorious New Video

One of the best videos I've seen in the last couple years. It took a bit to load for me so wait on this one. Very few have the ability to insert war time images into their music video while keeping things fresh and innovative. The only other circumstance I can think of is Metalica's "The Day That Never Comes" video.

"The video was done by Patrick Daughters and Marcel Dzama, who also designed the costumes and sets for the video"

$ Department of Eagles - No One Does It Like You

I was excited to see that they chose my favorite song to be made into my new favorite video. Kudos to Persona Sauna for uncovering this one.

TOUGH ALLIANCE COVER THE ZOMBIES

Just in time for the weekend. Modblog, who continue to release treasures almost daily have released this joyous dreamy bounce for all to know and love. The track is a zombies cover and its quickly taking over my recently played list.

Also check out a spring time ready single sent to me by Emil & Friends who recently put out a killer remix of Sleepyhead.

$ The Tough Alliance - Hung Up On A Dream

Blogger Hates Me

Not quite sure why blogger has a vendetta against my posts. Seems rude to take down a post like cut copy + aeroplane which was given away free from modulars blog. Free content should not be restricted.

I think I'm going to move away from blogger soon. Does anyone know the best place to host a site? How should I go about continuing to publish blog style without worrying about take downs?

MSTRKRFT FIST OF GOD OUT TODAY

I'm not sure what everyone's been bitching about, this album was really fun for me. It may not measure up to the looks and it may have an uneven amount of unexpected blackness and the graphic art may blow real hard AND it may have launched one of the worst music videos ever made (see bounce video) yet there are some really good tracks on Fist of God that are well worth getting excited for.

MSTRKRFT - It Ain't Love (ft. Lil Mo)
MSTRKRFT - Heartbreaker (ft. John Legend)

MR VEGA + AVIAN X

Mr Vega sent over his newest mix which adds his touch to the Avian X track, "My Life". The track is a little minimal for my tastes, but it does have a nice action to it that reminds me of playing video games (see above image).

$ Avian X - My Life (Mr Vega Remix)

BLOC PARTY + ARMAND VAN HELDEN

Track listing for ‘Intimacy Remixed’ is as follows:
1 Ares - Villains remix
2 Mercury - Hervé Is In Disarray remix
3 Halo - We Have Band Dub
4 Biko - Mogwai remix
5 Trojan Horse - John B remix
6 Signs - Armand Van Helden remix
8 Zephyrus - Phase One remix
9 Talons - Phones RIP remix
10 Better Than Heaven - No Age remix
11 Ion Square - Banjo or Freakout remix
12 Letter To My Son - Gold Panda remix
13 Your Visits are Getting Shorter - Double D Remix

I'm pretty sure Bjork did this whole intimate machines bit a while ago but she did it a lot better. This new vid/mix is meh but that villains remix is killing me.

WARP UPDATE

WARP

Time and time again I try to quench my banger thirst by visiting the dim mak home page and listening to the two samples of the new warp single. Their marketing ploy works well enough, seeing as it has me scouring the internet for low quality, longer glimpses at the upcoming track.

Only one week left

$ The Bloody Beetroots - Warp (Clash The Disko Kids "MIND WARPING" Remix)
$ Young Mc - Bust A Move (Don Rimini Remix Ravekid Remix)

Thank La Friendly and new blog pals Stoney Roads for the tracks

Here's the latest from Mad Decent's rookie of the year. Valium sounds like a party inside a toy gun I used to play with.

YOU!

whoever leaked Junior is both an ass hole and a saint. This album rules

10000 Horses Can't Be Wrong Video

^ Brand new SMD video for 1000 Horses Can't Be Wrong. I'm not crushing on this one as hard as I was for the synthesise video, but it's still unique.

WASH YOUR HANDS!

I bet there's an intern at stereogum who's only job is to watch new episodes of yo gabba gabba

SAMPLES

Both of these songs share the "woo!...yeah!" sample from the classic Lyn Collins' "Think About It" break. I'm more partial to the shazam track (I'm more partial to Shazam anything).

$ Shazam - Pool Party 2009 (Headman's Revolver Mix)
$ John Roman - Hold Up (Wait a Minute)

"Pool Party" is set for March release date. If you haven't heard the original check it out. Its very pretty.

$ Shazam - Pool Party

It's sad to see Shazam so low on the "king of remix" poll; just goes to show how underrated this producer is.

Thanks to John Roman, LA Friendly and Discodust

KINDA FUNNY BUT MOSTLY SAD IRONY

bad timing for this ad...

UNDER CONTROL

So by now you should be somewhat familiar with the sound I put out. Some large mixture of ghettotech, electro, bangers, melodic retro pop, rap and indie. Here are the latest sounds that I think are worth your ear's time: an insane new remix of Adam Freeland's Under Control and a fantastic rework of Hollywood Holt's Hollywood.

$ Adam Freeland - Under Control (Miles Dyson Remix)

$ Hollywood Holt - Hollywood (Fantastadon's Extended Remix)

I posted a remix of Digitalism's Want U reworked by "Thompson" a while back. Screendeath is his new persona under which he sent me some solid tracks.

$ MSTRKRFT - Click Click (Screendeath Remix)

P.S. I did the above artwork :)

I FEEL DUMB

And you should too if you haven't heard of Natalie Portman's Shaved Head. But if you have, then I applaud you. Where was I when this band took off? I feel left out...nobody told me.

THEY WEREN'T ON ANYONES BEST OF OH ATE LIST!

Just feeling a lil insecure, because this band is so good and I should've known.

All that aside, I demand that you check out this cavalcade of poppy synth rock fun. I'd post every track if I could this whole album is solid.

$ Natalie Portman's Shaved Head - The Malibu Highlife

$ Natalie Portman's Shaved Head - Beard Lust

$ Natalie Portman's Shaved Head - Confections

I guess the best I can do now is await the glory of a sophomore album and shame anyone who treats their second studio conquest like it's their first.
