GIMME DAT EXTRA 2.8 MBS!

When this was first sent out, it came in a 112kbs package which is listenable, but I asked for a higher quality mp3 hoping to suck every bit of Doorly action out of this remix. Turns out they were nice enough to oblige.

As far as Dubstep, when you have so much of the same sound becoming popular, it's up to a few allstars to bring original sound to the genre (Doorly quickly becoming a leader in the pack).

"She Came Along" will be released on Oct. 5th through Data Records with a "rediculous set of remixes". I'm getting hype...

special thanks to the ministry for sending this out:

AA 24 7 Mark Lam Remix

This just in: Mark Lam sent over his mix of Dance Area's "AA 24 7". It's a fuzz fest of style and attitude that keeps things simple. It works just as well in the sunshine as it does in a dark lit club.

G.L.O.V.E.S - P.Y.X EP + New Shoes Remix

The P.Y.X EP was released August 5th through Bang Gang and I have to say its one of my favorite releases in the last couple months (which counts for something with the current pace of music consumption).

The two originals on the E.P are "P.Y.X", which is "a cut up party Prince-esque monster full of electric guitar solos, live bass guitar slaps and silky smooth pianos" (quoted from BG promo) and "Too Much To Dream" which is sopped in delicious late night eighties vogue (the image of someone dancing in an empty street at night comes to mind).

The release comes packaged with Golden Bug and Strip Steve mixes as well as a newcomer (at least to my ears) named Ben Browning who should not be overlooked:

After checking the Bang Gang twitter (so as not to pull another FB) I found that they're giving away an INTENSE gem of a track fo freeeee. It's a new remix of shoes. And it's good. It's Holy Shit (smash the repeat button) good.

John Roman - Martyr

'Martyr' sounds like a dust cloud clearing right before you're hit by some sort of huge beastly creature. It's made up of a solid buzz bass that will keep you moving while the melody fights for your attention.

This is John Roman's most solid effort and deserves to get played out.

Fake Blood - Fix Your Accent EP

Straight out of a seventies bollywood flick is my (and thus your) favorite single off of Fake Blood's 'Fix Your Accent' EP. Ripe with contagious synth trills, popping basslines and energetic vocal samples, 'I Think I Like It' is a blissful hit with class.

$ Fake Blood - I Think I Like It

My bad for not checking up on IamFakeBlood before posting. 'I Think I Like It' along with the rest of the 'Fix Your Accent' EP is due for release Sept. 1st on Cheap Thrills records.

Samuel + the Knocks

Gotta love seeing all your blog bff's posting the same tracks, knowing that through these artists we are all connected YAAAYYYYYYY
<(' ' <) <( ' ' )> (>' ' )>

Samuel is an emerging artist from Heavy Roc Music (label), which is run by 'the Knocks' I believe, who have been throwing out some powerful mixes as of late, including this one. Think Telepopmusik meets Mew and some classic Knocks flavor.

HEALTH - Die Slow

Strap on some combat boots and grab your sister's black lipstick, we're going back to the heart of the nineties goth rock scene for this number.

Combining thunderous waves of thought out guitar and bass noise as well as melody and chopped up synth rhythm, HEALTH rise above the other easily forgetful acts claiming to be noise rock with their single, "Die Slow". The new 'Get Color' album hits shelves sept. 8th.

Example - Watch the Sun Come Up (Fred Falke Remix)

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think "Ministry of Sound"?

-That girl in the Bikini
-That girl in the Bikini at that beach (with the exceptionally clear water)
-Huge outdoor daytime raves
-Huge outdoor night time raves
-Fred Falke?

Why not hire Freddie for Example's promo project? Falke's tunes are always filled with sunshine or sunset noises, its fitting that he work on a mix specifically made to have your subconscious thinking of sun beams.

This single sounds like something an inspirational speaker would come on stage to (jumping around and screaming things into their microphone ear piece).

Delphic (Golden Bug Remix and Vid) + New Mew Vid

After stepping out the door, you are immediately met with the crisp and biting wind from the morning's unforgiving snow. Your mind and body are rudely awoken and somehow you've momentarily forgotten that you're trying to get to your car. Once inside you slide the key into the ignition, the car gives you some guff about making it do anything in this weather; a few blinking blue lights spark up and this song starts

$ Delphic - This Momentary (Golden Bug remix)

Special thanks to Radarmaker. This wonderful collection of talent always sends over the best materiel. Here's some video they wanted me to give you to go along with the audio.

Yolanda Be Cool / Can DCUP do no wrong?!

Another track in the mail from the melting shoe crew, "Sweat It Out", who have recently been releasing audible gold for free (thank you)

I feel sorry for "Yolanda Be Cool". They're probably just a couple of dudes tryin to make it with some nice jungly ethnic-y sounding beats but the original is completely overshadowed by the fact that two DCUP mixes have dropped with its release.

Before you get too head over heels for DCUP be sure to pay your respects to Shazam (who started this whole thing).
